The incidence of back pain increases every January, February and March. There are a lot of factors that go into this.

What Can You Do?
There are a few things that you can do at home that can be effective at reducing the chance of back injury. The first is to put up a good front. Having a good core and good abdominal muscles can really help keep your back from getting hurt. You need to do work all 4 parts of the abdominal muscles to be effective.
The next thing to help you avoid back pain is general exercise. just running in place in front of the TV can be amazing. You need a minimum of 25 minutes of good movement and you can alternate between jogging in place and high stepping or toe touches. The trick is to get your body moving. THis will really help you out if we have a snowfall and you need to go out and shovel. Since you have been moving, you are less likely to strain muscles as long as you take it slow.
The final hit for avoiding back pain is meditation. Yes, believe it or not, meditation has shown a positive effect at reducing back pain. 10-15 minutes of quite meditation has been proven to reduce your anxiety and reduce back pain. get in a good position that you can maintain for that length of time. Sitting up straight in a chair on on the floor is a good place to try first.
