Is Stress Causing Your Back Pain?

That may sound like something weird.  However, it is a proven fact that stress can be the cause of back pain.  That’s right, your  back pain might be caused by stress. This is especially true if you have stress over one particular area in your life.  What is that area?  It is an area that many many people struggle with.  That subject is money.

This connection was confirmed a few years ago by the results of a big study.  Researchers were trying to find something that has a positive relation to back pain.  You see, there are things we see on x-ray that show up when we x-ray people with back pain. But when we x-ray people without back pain we often see the same finding.  The same is true with MRI.  Even though lots of people with pain have a finding so do people without back pain.

What is it About Money?

Lots of studies have been done on this topic but no real conclusion has been found.  The only thing we know is that there is a better correlation that people who have money stress also have back pain than any other finding.  What can be done if this is the problem? That is a great question.  There are actually lots of exercises that can be done to help with this problem.  The difference is that the exercises are all mental ones.  Most exercises for back pain are physical.

It really is amazing that something that we think about can cause physical pain. We have so much to learn about this body of ours and how it works.  The thing I love about chiropractic is that our main job is to open the communication system in the body.  Once the nerves are open and working, the body is able to do its best job of fixing itself.
